Liyaa Note Privacy Policy

In short: your personal notebook stays on your phone. What you share in a course (chat, photos, Library) is seen only by people in that course. We do not sell your data, show ads or track you across other apps.

Who we are

Liyaa Note is a notebook and class app for courses and training programs. In this policy “we” means the Liyaa Note developer. Contact: ahmedanys@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

Email address and password	To create and sign in to your account. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash.	Owners of courses you ask to join see your email.
Display name, profile photo, headline, “About” and social links	So classmates recognise you.	Members of your courses. Headline, About and links only if you choose to share them.
Full name and phone number (phone optional)	So course owners can check who is joining.	Only owners of courses you ask to join.
Chat messages, shared notes and files	To run course chats, group chats and private chats.	The people in that chat.
Photos, captions, comments and marks in Memories	To share class memories.	Members of that course.
Library notes and files	To share course material.	Members of that course.
Notes, tasks and reminders backup (optional, on by default)	So you can restore your notebook on a new phone.	Only you.
Reports you send	To keep courses safe.	The course owner and the Liyaa Note team. The reported person is not told who reported them.
Push notification token and notification settings	To send the notifications you allow and respect your mutes.	No one; used only to deliver notifications.

Your personal notebook (subjects, topics, notes, audio, video, images and documents) is stored on your phone. Recordings, photos and files in your notebook are only copied off the phone if you make a backup file yourself, which is saved where you choose (for example your own Google Drive or OneDrive).

Services we use

Supabase: stores accounts, course content and backups (servers in Mumbai, India).
Expo: delivers push notifications and app updates.
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivers push notifications to Android phones.

These services process data only to provide these functions for us. We do not use advertising or analytics services.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Database rules check every request so people only reach courses they belong to.

How long we keep data

We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, it is deleted as described below. If an account that was suspended for breaking the community rules is deleted, we keep its email address so the same person cannot simply sign up again.

Deleting your account

In the app: Profile & Settings → Account → Delete my account. Or ask us by email; see how to delete your account. This deletes your account, profile, messages, photos, comments, marks, Library items, backups and reports you sent. Courses you own pass to the member who has been in them longest, so your classmates keep their course; a course with nobody else in it is deleted.

Your choices

Edit your profile, or hide your headline, About and links, in Profile & Settings.
Turn off the notes backup, or any type of notification, in Profile & Settings.
Mute a chat or a whole course.
Export your notebook from Profile & Settings.

Children

Liyaa Note is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is important.
